Garden in July

Being at home means I get to enjoy the garden a lot more than usual, plus remember to take pictures to decide what to do in future years.

The Culver's root finally ended up lying all over everything, kind of annoying, but the bees absolutely love it.....

Yes, once again, my perennial garden is out of control

My black-eyed susans are looking really good right now

My hardy hibiscus are beautiful first thing in the morning

Wild petunia are still flowering every morning.  There are volunteers everywhere and they are hard to pull out, no matter where they are growing or how small they are!!!!

My cone flowers have now lost their smell, but the bees still love them and they are still looking good

Five years already!!!!!

We have now been in our house for five years.  Time has gone by quickly, but I can hardly remember living in our old house now!!!  This was taken the day we closed on the house

Marie takes a trip to Loughborough

Marie went to Loughborough to get her hair done today.  She hasn't found anyone in Chester yet, and hasn't had it cut or coloured since January!!  I think it looks fine, but she has way more hair than I do and was getting too long for her.  She was probably also wanting to go and check on the house as she hasn't been there in a while.

She went to visit Mum and Dad's little plot and I love it that she sends me pictures of it

It's a good job Mum cannot see the garden she would not be happy, it's looking decidedly jungle-like!!!

The clematis is completely crazy, but I bet it was beautiful when it was flowering

This cat had adopted Mum and Dad, they used to keep food for her and she would come to the conservatory door several times a day to come in and eat.  They called her Tanny. She had at least two litters in their garage and Marie has one of her kittens now.  Dad even had one of his spectacular accidents (breaking his thumb in 4 places) when he went into town to get cat food for her.  Amazingly, she is still coming by and turned up when Marie was there.

It makes me pretty sad that she must still check to see if they are there.  There hasn't been anyone in the house for almost 18 months now.  She has probably happily taken over the garden.  Hope the new people like cats!!!!

Summer Chemistry at SLU

Ben signed up to do chemistry this summer, but it just didn't work out well for him.  The combination of the accelerated pace and online was not the best for his style of learning, so I suggested he withdraw from the class.  He was able to keep enrollment in the lab though, so he has been going to lab 3 days a week.  Good practice for when all the students are back in class!!!!
