Last game of the season

Maggie's softball season ended yesterday. It was a great game, they won and she got a hit in the last inning. She was very happy with herself.
She has all the moves.  She has the perfect stance, goes through all the motions of swinging, just wish she'd swing at the ball more when it matters
Final hit of the season....
The girls do a great job of encouraging each other after the game.  There are a lot of high fives and this tunnel thing that they do for each other!!!!

3 more cakes this weekend

We found 3 more STL250 cakes this weekend.  This has been a great project to work on with Maggie.  She is so excited about looking for cakes and so it's been fun doing it with her.  We went to South County on Saturday to take Ben's saxophone to the music store for repair.  We found this cake in Carondelet Park.
Maggie and I decided we liked this one the best so far because the artist had put sprinkles on the top
Then we were driving down Kingshighway and found the Brightside cake.  Another nice one
We went to Ted Drewes last night and found the cake there.  It's the same colours as the ice cream containers.  The ice cream was good too!!!!  We are up to 17 now, only 233 more to go!!!

Justin Spring gymnastics camp

Ben left for gymnastics camp this morning.  One of his team mate's mothers is taking them and bringing them back because one of her work offices is there and she can work from there next week.
As we were dropping him off, this was the conversation

Me: It's OK Maggie, we'll find things to do and you won't be annoyed all week
Maggie: Oh, I'll be annoyed by Bob (imaginary friend), he can be really annoying
Ben: No one is as annoying as me.....

Not too exciting

We went to the Farmer's Markets at Schlafly last night and Maggie cried "Mum, a cake, a cake....."  This is our #14, not too exciting though.  They could have done a much better job with painting it

Found more cakes on Sunday

We found a couple of cakes on Sunday. We drove by this one at Shaw Park on our way to breakfast, so on the way back, we stopped for a photo op.  This is our #12
#13.  Finally got the one at Busch stadium!!!!

Busy Sunday....

We were going to Half & Half in Clayton for breakfast on Father's Day, but it was too busy, so we went on Sunday instead.  Dad-can you believe I'd even go to somewhere called Half & Half!!!!  The food was great, so glad that we tried it out
We went to the baseball game on Sunday afternoon-first game of the season.  Arline bought these crazy glasses for Maggie's birthday
Took this selfie with Ben, everyone thinks we look alike, but I don't see it....
We bought a new sofa table from Arhaus.  I like it much better than the other one we had there, which has now been moved to the dining room
Definitely a busy Sunday

Random recent stuff

We went to Eckert's last week to pick blueberries. I think this is the first year they have done this and maybe they need to rethink it. We got there early so that they wouldn't have all been picked, but we were still too late.  There were absolutely none left and not even any in the stores
The cake app still did not work for the Eckert's cake...
Sunday was Father's Day.  Sam and I did the All American 5K and then we went to First Watch for breakfast
We went to the Muny on Tuesday night to see Billy Elliot.  It was so good, possibly the best one we have seen there
We are doing the Walk to Madrid campaign at work this year.  We have done it every year so far.  We took a team photo yesterday.....My immediate question is "when did I get to be so short???!!!"

Lego exhibit at MBG

Another great exhibit at MBG. These are all in the Climatron and admission is reasonable.    We went to Members Night with Arline on Tuesday.  It was surprisingly quiet, we almost had the place to ourselves.
This one was my favourite, even though it wasn't the most intricate.  It really did look like a snake though
The monarch is the biggest in the exhibit-over 60,000 pieces of Lego
This sundial is in the Temperate House
