Veteran's Day-Never forget....

In Flanders Fields the poppies grow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

We are having a sprinkler system installed. I never imagined they would be digging a 6 ft trench through the yard!!!!

Dee Dee went to the Friendship dance last night. Getting prepared for it was like a wedding. New dress, new shoes, nails & hair had to be done....
She looked spectacular, the pictures don't do her justice, but were the best I could get....

Ben: Here's your baby
Me: Watch you don't drop her
Ben: It's OK, she can walk. She is two. No, she is one. She's an early achiever!!!!

Trick or treat

And, then the evening finally arrived. The pumpkins were lit,the costumes were on,

the lights were lit,

and they were ready to go. I think they went to more houses this year than they have ever been to. Jan & Julie came over and Julie, DeeDee and Sam went out with Ben & Maggie. Jan & I sat on the porch and waited for visitors.

Sam's hat got passed around to everyone. It looks pretty good on DeeDee

What a huge haul of candy-this is only half of it. Most of it will end up in break rooms at Enterprise or SLU. I'm convinced the adults eat more of the candy than the kids do!!!!
