Me: Why do we have 2 remotes?
Ben: The other one and then that one....
Yeah, that clears it up!!!

New Year's Resolution???????
Is it counter-intuitive to make a New Year's resolution to lose weight and then make something like this? My only defense is that my friend bought me a book called "Absolutely Chocolate" full of chocolate recipes and that my husband has been wanting a dark chocolate cake for ages. This is going to be my new stock dessert for the near future. It came out perfectly & is absolutely yummy. It has Guinness in it, so that should be good for your hemoglobin, right?????
....and a partridge in a pear tree
Ben was in "art mode"when we were at the City Museum and so we spent 5 hours in Art City. We cut out snowflakes, made rag dolls and did copper foiling. I decided to do a difficult snowflake this time & she told me that only 37 people in the past 12 years had ever managed to do this one correctly. I was number 38!!!!!
It's hard to tell exactly what it is, but it looks cool anyway!!!

Grossology
We went to see Grossology at the Science Center today. It was definitely one of their better exhibits, particularly for children. After the tornado warning, we were ready to get in there & see what the fuss was about!!!!! Yes, it was gross. I have a particular aversion to snot!!!!
Here is Ben doing a poop impression from the "rectum" of the GI system!!!!
They had a huge version of "operation"
The kids got to shoot "pollen"at a giant nose.....
Yeah, the gas is always going to be a hit with kids
Maggie is negotiating the biggest organ of the body-the skin....

If you live in St Louis, I highly recommend it!!!!

Tornado!!!!!
Our trip to the Science Center turned out to be very different to what we expected. We should have known that there could be bad weather since it was 60 degrees in the morning (Ben & Maggie were wearing shorts today) & forecast to be 25 tonight.
Just as we were going in to the Grossology exhibit, we were told that we had to go into the basement because there was a tornado warning. They packed everyone into the basement, it was pretty tight in there.....
We were stuck in the basement for over an hour. It was funny to look around and see that everyone was playing with their phones. Luckily, Ben had his DSi with him, so it kept him occupied for a while. Maggie played the games on Megan's phone.

It was not a false alarm. There was a tornado in Sunset Hills that cause a significant amount of damage....

City Museum
Good times at the City Museum. The kids got to roast marshmallows
Maggie set hers on fire
We had our usual fare for lunch-they make passable pizzas and the kids love their pretzel grilled cheese

Ben spent 5 hours in art city-he made a snowflake, a rag doll & did copper tooling. Maggie ran around like her usual crazy self and was worn out by the time she got home.....
