Maggie makes it to another blog.....

Maggie has been taking kids Crossfit classes and made it to the Crossfit 26 blog.  Sam said this was about her 30th pull up.She really is a strong little thing and apparently is showing the boys up pretty successfully.    She can do that at home too!!!  Go Maggie....

Imani

This is why people think it's a good idea to have a big cat as a pet. These are pictures of the new baby lioness at the zoo. Isn't she so cute??? We need to run over there to see her in person....

Sometimes.....

Haircuts!!!!

Took Ben and Maggie to get their hair cut yesterday. Don't they look cute???!!!!Wish I'd done this before school picture day......

Rock Hill festival 2011

We had a huge day at the Rock Hill festival this year. The 5th grade parents are doing fundraisers for Camp Wyman at the end of the year. We had a booth at the festival and did a cake walk for the kids. We went early to set the booth up.
Since Ben and Maggie were arguing over who was doing what (as usual), I said "why is it I can never take a picture without you two fighting?", which prompted this.....
Ben taped the cake walk numbers to the ground while Maggie looked on
Maggie was walking in the parade with the girl scouts, of course Ben had to get in on the deal and carry the candy
The boy scouts let Ben pose with them
The boy scouts and girl scouts had a lot of fun walking in the parade and throwing candy to the kids on the sidewalk
Our friend Tom bought a huge bag of kettle corn and said he was going home to eat the lot!!!!
Ben rode the horses several times. I was really surprised because he has never shown an interest before
No surprise with Maggie, she loves anything to do with animals. She spent all day at the petting zoo, I never saw her at all!!!!
Here's Ben with his friend from school. A budding romance???!!!!
It was a very long day. We were all worn out at the end of it. Maggie didn't get out of bed until 9:30 on Sunday morning and I woke Ben up at 9:45 so we could go out to breakfast!!!!

The lab...

Someone at work put together this panoramic picture of the3 lab, I think it's really cool.....

You just never know.....

As I pull out of the driveway every morning to go to work and leave my family sleeping soundly, I never think that I may not see them again.  Why would I?  It's a pretty morbid thought to have at the beginning of the day, but it's one that maybe should make you stop and think every now and again.  Unfortunately, this occurred to a colleague of mine this week, his son was killed while cross country running after school.  Everyone says "it should never happen to someone as good as that" and in this case, it's true.  His Dad is one of the nicest surgeons I have ever met, he is always cheerful, treats everyone with respect and is never too busy to help.  The family was generous enough to allow him to be an organ donor and so there are several patients out there that can now lead better lives because of this child's misfortune.  I don't know that I could have made that decision.  So, hug your family as often as you can and never forget to tell them how much you care.....
