School garden 2013
Well, we don't have much in the garden at all this year, but these sunflowers are absolutely enormous!!! We did harvest a few things, but there really wasn't much at all!!! Nice to have a few fresh vegetables though.

Camping Weekend
Jan and Julie took Ben and Maggie camping this weekend, not together, of course!!! They went to Onandaga Cave State Park on Wednesday night with Maggie and then we took Ben down on Friday night for the child swap. Maggie was riding her bike when we got there
Ben immediately had to put his swim shorts on and go in the river, they had a camp site right by the Meramec river
We stayed with them for dinner, Jan and Julie are pretty good at camp cooking, we had hot dogs, corn and vegetables cooked on the fire
Ben loves to chop the wood for the fire
We left Ben there for a couple of days, they both had a great time. The highlight of Ben's trip was finding this turtle!!!
Sam's last day at Enterprise
After 15 years at Enterprise, this is Sam's last day. He's moving to Emerson starting on Monday. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerson_Electric

Our life without Maggie
This post should really be entitled "Our life without Maggie and Ben", but we did see Ben for a brief while. The house has been extremely quiet without the around!!! Maggie went camping with Jan and Julie on Wednesday night and we are doing the child swap Friday night so Ben spends a couple of days with them too. Ben had gymnastics on Wednesday evening and then went to the Webster Groves fair with his friends, so we barely saw him-we were in bed when he came home at 11:30!!!!
We got up early on Thursday morning and went downtown to do the Freedom 4 mile run. The sun was still coming up over the arch
We took a picture before the run
It was a great route to run, completely different to any other run we have done there. We ran past the arch at the beginning
We ran past Busch stadium
and past the City Garden
We were still smiling at the end. We did the run in 42:38, not bad but I did walk some of it, just couldn't keep going
We went to pick peaches at Eckerts. Was the easiest trip we have done out there, got straight on a wagon going out and coming back. Was very strange to do it just on our own, but we had a very nice day together
Ben's life without Maggie
Maggie went camping with Jan and Julie on Wednesday night, so it's just been the 3 of us for a while. Actually, it's pretty much just been Sam and me since Ben has been off with his friends the whole time. He went to the Webster Groves fair with some friends on Wednesday night. The boy in orange is on the SLGC sanctioned team and his sister is Ben's current girlfriend.
Dodgy moment-current girlfriend (green shirt) and ex-girlfriend (blue shirt) together!!!!
Ben went to a family gathering with the same people yesterday. Spent the whole day swimming!!!

Maggie and The J's
Maggie spends a lot of time with Jan and Julie-she goes to church with them quite a lot and recently she helped them make vegetable buckets to grow food for the local community. I suspect she was talking to this plant before she put it in the ground
She certainly likes to give it her all and get truly involved in everything she does!!!!
Jan and Julie took Maggie horseback riding for her birthday. She looks like she had a great time with them
Maggie loves all animals, she really needs to work with them when she's older.....
