Construction project #????? Day 3

No walls left at all, just the framing.  I thought the bathroom might have looked bigger in this state, but it 's still small!!!

Kitchen looks pretty much the same, but they have taken down the ceiling where the water damage was

This was interesting:  They had attached additional wood to the joists under the bath drain

Then, they hung this pan between the new wood to catch the leak.  Apparently, it wasn't 100% successful.  You've got to wonder why they just didn't fix the leak since they had to remove part of the ceiling......

Construction project #????? Day 2

 So much for our back sitting room, now filled with tools

and a dishwasher, and a stove.......

The kitchen did not last long, the cabinets are already gone

We are hoping they can get rid of this whole soffit and open up the area here.  The sink and dishwasher are being relocated to here

Construction project #????? Day 1

Day 1 was pretty quiet. A lot of taping off areas, bringing in tools and getting set up.  The refrigerator was moved onto the patio, we will be getting a new one that is counter depth

No point trying to cook in here on my last day of the old kitchen

Can this cat get any sadder???!!!!  I wonder how long it will take her to get over the trauma and find the new location for her treat bowl???!!!!!

Getting ready for more upheaval

We are finally getting our kitchen and bathrooms done.  They are definitely in need of replacing and I cannot wait until they are done.  They are starting on March 1, so I have been clearing out kitchen cabinets and getting rid of a bunch of stuff.  I feel like I am constantly decluttering and still have way too much "stuff" that I just don't use.  So far, this is the pile that will be going to Goodwill very soon.....

Winter finally arrives

We have been so lucky with the weather, then Winter arrived and we had a week of VERY COLD temperatures and snow.  It seemed to go on for ever, but really didn't last that long.

Our #1 job at the moment is trying to help the birds through the cold weather, hope we haven't lost too many of them.  It's quite the time commitment and not exactly cheap!!!!

January went by in a flash

Winter and COVID adds up to pretty much doing nothing for a month, but I did get fully vaccinated so I achieved something!!!!!

And we had a little bit on snow at the end of the month.  Nothing else to report.....

New Year 2021

We woke up to freezing rain for the first day of the new year, let's hope this isn't an omen!!!!  I love it when the trees are encased in ice, I don't think it hurts them luckily.  We were lucky that the ground wasn't frozen and it was all gone in the late morning

We had dinner at Ben's condo, I made chili and took it over there.  He's not quite ready to cater a dinner party yet!!!  It was snowing then we got there, I tried to get a picture, but you can't really tell.  I'm very excited that he has this redbud outside his back deck

We took a bunch of games over, but only played Jenga before dinner.  It's a family favourite, we usually play with Jan and Julie when we go there.  Maggie is the champion, but wasn't on her game this time
