Construction Project #????? Week 12

We are really just in a holding pattern until the counter tops come in next Friday, but Al did get all the trim finished off.  Downside is that they had to move the bookcase out to replace the chair rail and so we have lost our one sitting room that wasn't disrupted!!!!!  He has added trim to the walls adjacent to the new bathroom door and it looks very fancy.

The details around the kitchen ceiling matches the rest of the house now.  It was quite a project

Construction Project #????? Week 11

 Not much going on this week.  We have to wait until May 28 to get the kitchen counter top, and not much can happen until after that.  We do now have a door on the bathroom (always a good selling point in a house!!)

Sam has cleaned the kitchen, it's going to be great

Trim on top of cabinets.  And the range hood is up

That's pretty much it for this week

Garden in May

 My lilac bush has been lovely this year.  It's a pity we don't get to see it much at all as it's in the back corner

My "shade" garden is doing very well this spring.  Pity it's not in that much shade right now!!!!  I had to cut my bee balm down already this spring, I have definitely planted them in the wrong place!!!!

Ben and I bought a bunch of annuals to plant for color.  They are all around the greenhouse right now as the patio is still covered in contractor tools

I bought a papyrus, it was very expensive and will likely die, but I just had to try it!!!!

One thing I can be sure of is that we won't run out of thyme!!!

The chives are lovely when they are flowering

the rain garden is a bit of a jungle, but I love it

Construction Project #????? Week 10

 A LOT has happened this week.  The tile is finished in the upstairs bathroom.  It has turned out so well and I really love it

They had to get all the kitchen cabinets in so that they could measure for the counter tops

The kitchen looks bigger than it did before-my plan worked!!!!

The ground floor bathroom is just waiting for fixtures now

Construction Project #????? Week 9-Bathroom

While Al was doing the kitchen, the tile people have been putting the floor down in Maggie's bathroom

And they got started on the walls too

This bathroom is going to be so nice when it's done

Construction project #????? Week 9-Cabinets are making it look like a kitchen!

 It's definitely starting to look like a kitchen.  They started putting in the wall cabinets on Friday

Still a long way to go....

Construction Project #????? Week 9-Floors are finished!!!!

We had to eat out Monday and Tuesday nights this week as they were finishing the floors.  They look fabulous,  I'm so excited.  We are getting cabinets today, it's going to look like a kitchen very soon

I am hoping for great improvement in our tiny bathroom.....
