Mardi Gras/Valentine's Day at the Zoo

Despite the cold and snow, we decided to brave the weather and go to the zoo for their Mardi Gras celebrations. The lady that does the face painting does a great job, but she takes ages and the kids had to stand in line for quite a while. This year, she was doing masks and every one of them was different. Ben's looked like some kind of fire king mask and included lots of his favourite colour red......I'm not sure what Maggie thought was going to happen to her, but she looked like she was praying the whole time her face was being painted!!!!
OK, Xavier isn't really that much taller than Ben, is he???!!!!! Look at all that bling!!!!!
We went to see the penguins walking. It was absolutely packed and we couldn't see anything, but I told the kids just to work their way through to the front of everyone and they got to see the penguins up really close. Ben was really excited because one of the penguins walked up to him and honked at him!!!!
Maggie & Xavier had a great time playing with the Delta Dental Panda!!!!
There were lots of activities for the kids to do while they were there. The biggest hit was making masks, there will be glitter all over the house for weeks to come.
